| Bio: | 38 years old, happily married and equally happily child-free, but I have two precious furbabies, my kitties - Blythe (15 year old biddy) and Fintan (three year old little turd!). I was a video editor and voice over talent for 8 years, and when my husband got the opportunity to get his MA, then MFA, I became a very bored, very bad secretary for 5 years and am now quite happily employed at the Illinois State University library now that the hubby's graduated and landed a job (YAY!). Yup. Illinois. So now I'm a transplanted Texan in the big fat middle of Illinois, living in the big fat middle of a corn field. Make that a transplanted Texan who is now so desperate for Tex-Mex I could DIE. Anyhoo, I'm a serious fanfic junkie, though I have to draw the line at Mpreg and all that sort of similar silliness - it just squicks me bigtime. Anyway, I started with (amended list here) X-Files, then Wolverine/Rogue, then Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, moved on to general Star Wars and some Riddick, though he's hard to find where he's written well. Anyway, am currently fascinated with almost all things Harry Potter (post-Hogwarts is best, and Draco/Hermione is my OTP with a runner-up of Harry/Hermione). And now I'm all into Dr. Who. Yeesh - all these OTPs get exhausting after awhile, but the fanfic is fabulous. I'm always late to an OTP party too, so I get to catch up on years and years of good fic. N-E-way. I pretend I can write the stuff myself, and still intend to use this journal in part as a means to "store" scenes/fics where I can edit them wherever I may be. I have no particular style at all, which irks me. I can write absolutely smarmy/maudlin fluff, ho-hum every day stuff or dark "what's wrong with her?" stuff. I do find myself tending to fall into writing the darker stuff - where people get hurt, say mean things, endure or die... that sort of thing. I'm all for fluff, but it's hard for me to do without coming across as overblown and insincere. Anyway, I like canon!bad guys the best. Anyway. Blah blah.
